The Landau coupe added a vinyl half-roof along with body accent striping, sport mirrors, Turbine II wheels, and “discriminating” crests. The 1967 Camaro was offered in four basic versions: Sport Coupe, Rally Sport (RS), SS and Z/28. Offered in standard and spiffier X-100 trim, it shared Marquis’ hidden-headlamp front and the ventless side glass used by most other models. They are offered designed with sofas, chair, gourmet coffee table as well as end tables which often can create a perfect natural environment pertaining to relaxing as well as friends and family. That’s being unfair, since the Allstate, like the Henry J, had a good service and repair record. Design renderings of early, slab-sided Kaiser-Frazer sedans with Allstate labels were completed, but nothing came of the idea until Kaiser-Frazer produced the Henry J, announced in early 1950 as a 1951 model. This decision caused dismay within the Kaiser-Frazer dealer organization, which fretted about competition from the giant department store and catalog merchandiser. The Allstate as a whole was guaranteed for 90 days or 4,000 miles by Kaiser-Frazer — “which was as long as anybody would want to guarantee one of the things,” as one critic of the Henry J put it. That market may be local, regional, national or international. The 1952-1953 Allstate was an odd car that is remembered today (if it’s remembered at all) for being Sears, Roebuck & Company’s misguided attempt at entering the auto market.
